What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease rather than suppress symptoms. Symptoms of dis-ease are seen as warning signals of imbalance and a disruption in the functioning of the body, and unfavourable lifestyle habits. Naturopathic Medicine emphasises disease as a process rather than as an entity.
In addition to diet and lifestyle changes, natural therapies including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and physical modalities, such as CranioSacral Therapy may also be used during treatments.
In Canada, the Naturopathic Medical profession’s infrastructure includes accredited post secondary naturopathic medical programs, consisting of over 4,100 hours of study, of which 1,200 hours are supervised hands-on clinical training. Following graduation the graduate is eligible for standardized North American Board Exams (NPLEX) and jurisdictional exams. National standards of practice, regulation and continuing education are maintained to continue to bring the highest level of care to each and every patient.LET'S GET STARTED
I often get asked by patients if they can heal after years of pain and dysfunction.
I always respond "Yes, your brain is plastic, each moment you are laying down new cells.
The question is: are you ready to change the environment they are being laid down in?"

Functional Medicine Testing and Proactive Labwork
Have you told your doctor you don't feel well only for them to run blood work and tell you they came back "normal". Did you know lab values are based on the population being tested? So if everyone is deficient, then everyone will still be "normal"...see the problem here. We do!
This is why we look at labs with a different lens and utilize functional medicine testing to optimize your brain health.
Acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Neuromuscular and Scalp Acupuncture
Is a system of medicine that is over 5000 years old. We use a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, neuromuscular acupuncture and scalp acupuncture to support healing of the brain and body. Combined with Microcurrent Point Stimulation and scar release therapy for clinically proven improved symptom and pain management.
CranioSacral Therapy (Cranial Osteopathy)
Often called “massage of the nervous system” it is a hands on, light touch therapy that is performed over the clothes. CranioSacral Therapy helps shift your nervous system into a powerful healing state by releasing tension deep in the body to help reduce pain, relieve dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance. CranioSacral therapy has been used for persistent post concussion symptoms in ex-NFL players and can also bring about gentle trauma resolution through SomatoEmotional Release and has been used with war veterans experiencing PTSD.
Brigitta has advanced training in CranioScaral Therapy from the world-renowned Upledger Institute, including Touching the Brain and CranioSacral Therapy for Cranial Nerves, which she integrates into treatments.
